In October 2025, the Swedish company ES Energy Save Holding AB —one of Europe's leading manufacturers of air-to-water heat pumps—announced its partnership with JCE South America, appointing the group as the exclusive distributor of its technology in South America. Chile was the first country included in the agreement. That was the starting point for Scanditec: the operating unit created by JCE Chile to bring the complete EnergySave product line and the European brands that make up its hydronic ecosystem to the local market.
The partnership covers the distribution of ES Energy Save heat pumps in various South American markets, with Chile serving as the founding country of the agreement. In operational terms, this means that Scanditec is the sole authorized channel in Chile to market, specify, and provide after-sales technical support for EnergySave’s R290, R32, Industrial R410A, and Heatbox series, with direct access to the same production line and the same quality standards as those in Sweden.
The fact that a European manufacturer chooses an exclusive distributor for each country is no small matter: it involves a thorough technical and commercial review of the local partner, with long-term commitments regarding volume, after-sales service, and market development. In practice, it is a public endorsement of trust.
JCE South America has been operating in the region since 1987 and operates in several sectors: Hardware & Distribution, Forestry Products, and Real Estate Development, with an established presence in Chile, Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. That logistics and operational infrastructure was a key factor in EnergySave’s decision.
“With our strong local presence and extensive experience in the region, we are uniquely positioned to help Nordic companies grow in these dynamic markets. This project is clear proof of that.”, he noted Ulf Gillberg, Head of JCE South America AB, at the time of the announcement.
For EnergySave, the agreement is part of its long-term goal of strengthening its international distribution network and bringing Scandinavian heat pump technology to markets outside Europe.
Chile is undergoing a significant energy transition. The current residential and commercial heating system still relies heavily on imported fossil fuels —natural gas, liquefied gas, kerosene— or firewood, especially in the south-central and southern regions of the country. This demand, combined with Chilean regulatory progress toward a more sustainable energy mix (the MMA’s Chao Estufa Program, the phase-out of HFCs under the Kigali Amendment, and decontamination plans under the PDAs), creates a very clear opportunity for high-efficiency heat pump technology.
“JCE is a solid and dynamic partner with a clear focus on implementing green technology from Sweden and Europe in South America. Heating in Chilean properties relies primarily on imported gas, which creates significant potential for energy savings through heat pump technology.”, he noted Gabinus Street, Key Account Manager at ES Energy Save for the South American market.
The analysis of the local market was complemented by the perspective of Sebastian Olivos, CEO of JCE Chile:
“Now is a good time to enter the heat pump market in Chile, given that the market is shifting toward sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. Our goal is to become a leading player in this growing segment and to complement our product offering with products from other premium European brands.”
That ambition has taken shape in the hydronic ecosystem that Scanditec represents today in Chile: in addition to EnergySave, the product line includes multilayer pipes and radiant floor heating from Emmeti, valves, and control of ESBE, and radiators and fan coils from Purmo — a complete European stack under a single local technical channel.
One point that EnergySave highlighted in the original announcement was the importance of the remote support and digital connectivity for geographically extensive markets such as Chile. All EnergySave devices come with factory-integrated connectivity at no additional cost, providing access to the Fleet Manager — the web platform that allows you to monitor performance in real time, perform remote diagnostics, receive automatic alerts, and apply over-the-air software updates.
For the Chilean market, where a facility in Copiapó, Coyhaique, or Punta Arenas may be more than 2,000 km away from a technical support center, this ability to diagnose and troubleshoot remotely is not a luxury—it is what makes it possible to guarantee reasonable response times and maintain the promised standard of after-sales service.
For architects, project engineers, construction companies, and mechanical integrators, the signing of this agreement introduces a technical alternative to Chile that until now required direct importation from Europe: Keymark-certified heat pumps, R290 refrigerant with a GWP of 3, and backed by a manufacturer that has been operating in the European market for over 15 years (EnergySave has been listed on the Nasdaq First North Growth Market since 2020).
And for project owners—from a single-family home to a mining operation, a hotel, or a condominium complex—this means access to the same technology currently being installed in Stockholm, Oslo, or Munich, with local support in Spanish, spare parts available domestically, and application engineering tailored to the Chilean climate.
That is the commitment with which Scanditec is launching its operations in Chile.
